🤓 The Evening Observer 🤓
After entire day's sweating outside in hot summer environment I came home only to find no electricity. The unscheduled power cut forced me to lit a candle.
No sooner the weak candle light filled the room, one small non-descript insect came closer to it's flame.
It had very erratic flying pattern and its flight path was not easy to follow. Defying all the logics, it went up, it when down, it flew to its left and in split second it flew to its right.
The agitation it displayed was very disturbing and not at the least amusing! The tranquil and languid atmosphere of the room filled with cool serene breeze was appearing to be disturbing this non-descript flying insect. It seemed set to take revange for something wrong happened to it in the past. The insect was behaving like an angry maniac.
Tormented by the energy, light and heat the flickering flame of candle was emitting, it appeared to be set to extinguish it.
Coming dangerously close to the flame, it many times did its crazy suicidal dance but flame kept on swaying delicately unmindful of the intents of the insect.
Soon this lone creature was joined by many similar insects - all equally crazy with the intent of killing the flame which was unmindfull of increase in wind speed and also the increase of number of insects and their collective efforts.
I watched their activities initially with indulgence, amusement and curiosity but soon my whole day's tiring schedule over took me and I did not realise when I went to a somnambulustic stupor.
Awoke with a jerk, I realised that I must have dozed off for a few minutes only. Rubbing my eyes I looked around. The candle was still spreading its gentle light all over the room and around it were strewn many tiny feathers of flying insects.
The insects were nowhere to be seen who wanted to kill the gentle candle which was spreading all enveloping soothing light, which was spreading clear vision and knowledge of surrounding and which was an animated signature of being alive.
Poor insects! Brave candle!
